I am a postdoctoral researcher in the labs of Johan Paulsson and Ethan Garner at Harvard University. I did my undergrad in chemical engineering at Indian Institue of Technology (IIT) Delhi and completed my Ph.D. in biochemistry at the University of Oxford with Stephan Uphoff and Kevin Foster.
My research interests lie at the intersection of dynamical systems and bacterial stress responses, where I integrate single-cell microfluidics and population assays with theoretical modeling. I am passionate about uncovering the deterministic mechanisms behind seemingly random bacterial behavior in fluctuating environments. During my Ph.D., I focused on linking single-cell behavior to population dynamics, exploring how individual cell responses influence the collective behavior of bacterial populations. In my postdoctoral research, I am scaling down to probe the molecular mechanisms that govern cell individuality, using large-scale approaches to better understand how these mechanisms drive variability in bacterial stress responses.
