Marina Barba Aliaga

Postdoctoral Fellow

Research

PhD in biomedicine and biotechnology. I am a biotechnologist with expertise in yeast molecular biology and more specifically in translation and gene expression regulation.

After becoming a FPU PhD research fellow at the University of Valencia (2019-2023) I focused my research on translation dynamics and gene expression regulation. During this time I also worked as a visiting scholar at the University of California San Diego (2022), where I gained experience on studying the yeast mitochondrial function.

Current work as postdoctoral research fellow (funded by Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University) under the supervision of Prof. Vlad Denic is focused on chaperones, protein biogenesis and folding dynamics.

Feeling very lucky for the amazing opportunity to work at Harvard University and looking forward to exploring new areas of science. Aside from my science interests I feel passion for movies, fashion and travelling.
