Research

For my postdoc research, I am exploring sequence-structure-function relationships in enzymes using an arsenal of bioinformatic and experimental tools.

I have always been fascinated by understanding life at the molecular level, with a special interest in protein-ligand interactions and the evolution of enzymatic mechanisms.

I am currently conducting an NSF postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Ryan Nett, both to predict and study neofunctionalized enzymes involved in metabolic pathways/networks across the tree of life.

Prior to joining MCB, I completed my Ph.D. in molecular biophysics at the Johns Hopkins University under Dr. Juliette Lecomte, studying heme coordination and folding stability in microbial hemoglobins using multiple sequence analysis, optical spectroscopies, and structural biology.
