This year, despite social distancing, MCB’s annual gift drive raised over $10,000 in donations and gifts for the women’s shelter Rosie’s Place.
The final total included $10,215.00, six $25 gift cards to Old Navy, ten boxes of face masks for adults, ten boxes of face masks for children, three cases of hand sanitizers, and one hat with a matching pair of gloves. All of these donations were delivered to Rosie’s Place on December 16. Since 1974, Rosie’s Place has been a source of support for women and children who do not have access to safe and stable homes or other necessities. The donated goods and gift cards will go to women at the shelter, ensuring that they have access to essentials such as toiletries and winter gloves.
Despite the difficult year and the ongoing social distancing, the MCB community dug deep and shared their resources and compassion to people who are in need.
