This summer, Professors Rob Lue and Alain Viel took biology out of the lab and onto the streets with “Biology, Innovation, and the 21st Century Smart City,” a for-credit study-abroad program in Paris, France. Over the course of eight weeks, teams of Harvard undergraduates and French university students explored and applied parallels between biological principles and urban innovation.
