Join Us for a Workshop Tailored for the MCB Community Reviewing the University’s New Non-discrimination and Anti-bullying Policies

The MCB Community Task Force (CTF) on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) hopes to identify inequalities that exist in our community and action items that we can work on to make our community more inclusive. On March 22, from 4-5 pm, speakers from the Office of Gender Equity including Seth Avakian, Stephanie Clendenin, Danielle Farrell, and Pamela Galowitz will discuss these policies in greater detail with our community.

“They will help to raise our awareness about the newly implemented university policies as well as pre-existing policies pertaining to these important topics and share how we can work together to create an inclusive environment for all,” says MCB’s Julia Fannon, Assistant Director of Human Resources. “It is our goal to provide our community members with an opportunity to learn more about these policies and resources available to them.”

In this workshop, presenters will review current policies, including University and FAS Interim Sexual Harassment and Interim Other Sexual Misconduct policies and new University-wide Non-Discrimination and Anti-Bullying Policies, describe the resources available for support, and pathways for resolution, including informal options and the formal complaint process.  Workshop attendees will also engage in a dialogue about individual professional responsibilities, work through scenarios, and learn strategies for being an active bystander and preventing harassment, discrimination, and bullying.  Community members are encouraged to use an anonymous feedback form to submit questions and topics for discussion ahead of the workshop and at any time to report an issue or ask for clarification.

This workshop aligns closely with the mission of MCB’s Community Task Force, specifically with the working group dedicated to psychological safety and support.

Please note this this event will take place instead of the regular Friday Talks @4.
