HUES Requisitions:
The human embryonic stem (HUES) cell collection at the present time consists of 17 stem cell lines (HUES 1-17). If you are interested in obtaining HUES cells,
we suggest in the first instance that 4 cell lines, two male and two female, will be
sufficient for most research. If additional lines are required, please note this in your request below.
To Request HUES lines:
- Please fill out the request form below
- Following receipt of your request, Harvard’s Office of Technology Development (OTD)
will send you documentation that must be signed by the principal investigator, and an authorized institutional
official at your institution (usually the technology transfer or sponsored research office). The fully executed agreement
and certifications must be completed
and returned before HUES cells will be distributed. Procedures for receiving and executing these agreements with OTD
can be found at: Materials Transfer Agreement and Certifications. We currently estimate that you will receive the required
documents within 2-3 weeks of the date your request was submitted to the web site. This time frame accounts for our processing
speed for the numerous requests we receive and the mail transit time to your facility.
- Embryonic Stem Cell Research Oversight:
- Submit a copy of your institution’s ESCRO committee (or equivalent) approval for the use of the cell lines to the
Harvard University ESCRO Office (escro@harvard.edu).
- Your ESCRO should contact Harvard’s ESCRO Office for documentation of the provenance of the cell lines.
This information cannot be provided to the requesting investigator
- Once all above steps have been completedexecuted, we will confirm your shipping information and then send out the lines.
Please note that you will need to provide us with a FedEx account number. FedEx does not ship dry ice to all locations.
If FedEx does not ship dry ice to your institution, please apply for an account with World Courier: www.worldcourier.com
Do NOT obtain an account with World Courier until your MTA and ESCRO approvals have been received and approved by Harvard.
Replacement vials:
Investigators seeking replacement vials should request them through this website.
They will be required to sign another MTA and IURAL, but will not have to complete another verification statement.
If the ESCRO approval that we have on file is still valid, we will not require further documentation of approval of your work.
If, however, your ESCRO approval has expired or has been renewed, we will need documentation of the updated approval.
