Pal-1 translation is repressed by MEX-3 in the early embryo in C. elegans. To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of MEX-3, I am validating in vivo the physical interaction of MEX-3 with MEX-6 and SPN-4 and determining which regions are necessary for interactions. I am also investigating how the domain architecture of MEX-3 regulates its localization and stability in the early embryo.
