RNAi
A surprising feature of RNAi in many animals and plants is that RNAi can spread from one cell to another. The purpose of this transport of RNAi between cells and the molecules that accomplish this in any organism are largely unknown. I plan to (1) rapidly discover these molecules using genetic screens in C. elegans and (2) to determine how the newly found molecules help transport RNAi between cells.
